It’s been raining for the last week or so. I mean, flooding has been a real issue in the heartland. Roads, fields, backyards – there’s a lot of puddles. Big puddles.
I love this weather – not the flooding part, but the rain shower in the spring part. The sky is blue-gray-steel and the rain is the same color, the trees are live green, and flowers are starting to bloom. It’s a calming color palate. Everything is all misty, and the tap-tap pit-pat of the rain on the roof is putting me to sleep.
I’m dreaming about a warm cup of tea, sweatpants, and a good book – only, I have to work, which is what I’m supposed to be doing right now, so…that’ll have to wait for another day.
Summer is coming, which for me means less work. I work at a community college library, so I have the option of working only two days a week instead of the four. I’m taking the two; this might be the only time in my life where I can afford to do so. Soon, my student loans will be knocking and I won’t have the choice of working or not.
I’m hoping to get some of those indie books read and reviewed. I’ve got a decent sized list, and there’s plenty more out there.
So, there’s that to look forward to!
