It means I get a vacation.
When people ask me what I’m doing over the holiday breaks, my answer is general the same: “Absolutely nothing.”
However, that’s not entirely true. I’m not planning on going anywhere, doing anything special, or making a “holiday” of a time. No. I plan to spend the extra time off work by doing the one thing I love more than most others: writing. With three days off for Thanksgiving, I could pump out the majority of a draft if I tried really hard.
I’ve been working SUPER hard on this NaNoWriMo novel. I’ve already got plans and notes for revision and world-building. I’m – dare I say – excited to get started.
If I can get it done by Christmas break, I could spent those two weeks (I work at a college. We’re closed for two weeks. Perks!) working on Devil’s Blood 3.
Side note – I’m really proud of how DB 3 turned out. I’m also proud of how DB 4 is going. I’ve even plotted out bits of DB 5. I’m looking forward to getting DB 3 out there in the world. …to the three people who’ve read the first two books.
Some people watch TV for their vacation, others go places; I write; I sleep; I might bathe. It’s a time for me to not be stressed or think about work or anything else but myself and sleeping in and getting all the Zs that I can.
So that’s what I’m going to be doing this week. Pumping out those words like a wizard. A word wizard.
P. S. – Happy Turkey Day to all my America friends! Happy Thursday to everyone else!
Good magic to the word wizard!
