Book Review: Fyr by Lisa Borne Graves (5/5)

Fyr is fantasy romance, and let me start by saying I don’t read a lot of fantasy romance. I read a lot of fantasy but not romance. However, I love a good romantic subplot in anything I read.

I enjoyed this book. The writing pulled me along, the plot kept moving and building, and the characters were charming. I’m a sucker for the sassy headstrong female lead, and Fyr delivers. Our dashing male lead felt a little flat in the beginning, but he rounded out by the end. He still felt like a man straight out of a romance novel, but, I mean, he is. Can’t fault him for being what he is.

Overall, I enjoyed Fyr. It was a charming fantasy romance, and it was just what I needed. I needed something to read that wasn’t about making things worse or the end of the world or political strife. I get all I can handle of that nonsense from the news.

So, I give Fyr 5 fireballs out of 5.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
