Notice anything different?
Don’t worry, you’re at the right place. A big change is coming to the brand (if you want to call it that) – I am changing my pen name from B. B. Morgan to Beatrice B. Morgan.
I chose B. B. Morgan as a pen name as a sophomore in high school. I never thought of anything better. So I self-published using that name, and when I landed a deal with Authors 4 Authors Publishing, I continued to use it.
And, to be honest, it feels dated.
When I go book shopping, I will buy a book by a female author before a male author. I like the way the female brain organizes thoughts into a story. They are more in-tune with the emotional side of the story and tend to write better romance. But that’s another blog post. I write for the same readership that I am a part of. So, I want my potential readers to see my name and not wonder about my gender. Clearly, female writer.
I don’t care if that doesn’t make sense to anyone else. It makes sense to me.
Also, while I don’t hate my indie books, I feel as though they are pulling on my career, like an ex that won’t go away. One day, I will go back and polish and trim and revise. But I don’t have that kind of time right now.
So, my works with Authors 4 Authors will be rebranded under the pen name, Beatrice B. Morgan. Don’t worry; all my social links are going to be the same. That’s mostly why I kept the name – because I can’t handle double the social accounts.
There’s also going to be a few more changes, but I can’t reveal those yet. 😉
